OUR LAND
Our village is called Prosymna (Berbati), located in Argolis, and its territorial boundaries are adjacent to the archaeological site of Mycenae. The archaeologist and Director of the Swedish Institute at Athens, Berit Wells, in an interview with the magazine “Anagennisi,” states that during the Mycenaean period, the valley of Prosymna was under Mycenaean control. Surface research conducted in the area reveals that, in addition to cereal cultivation, the people also engaged in olive cultivation, and traces of olive presses have been found scattered across the valley of our village.
